Unicast and Multicast operation modes

Broadcaster M110 IRD can operate in several modes to allow universal device deployment: Multicast mode allows deployment in closed Local Area Networks (LAN) where all video/audio content is sent in multicast format; Unicast mode allows implementation in Open Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Internet where the video/content is sent to remote locations and using secure and reliable network connections. The Unicast mode can achieve maximum image quality and uninterrupted operation.

H.264, MPEG4, MPEG2 Support

Broadcaster M110 IRD supports low bit-rate H.264 video compression technology which substantially reduces media bandwidth requirements. Compared to older video compression technologies, H.264 offers better video quality at substantially lower bit rates. Because of more efficient bandwidth utilization, Broadcaster M110 IRD enables providers to reduce the cost of delivering services to subscribers. Broadcaster M110 IRD also supports popular satellite based MPEG4, MPEG2 video compression technologies.

High Definition Support

Broadcaster M110 IRD supports High Definition video streaming. That allows it to deliver video with greater detail, realism and quality, especially to large format TV screens. High Definition video signal from Broadcaster M110 IRD IPTV gateway is delivered to the TV screen via using Multicast or Unicast media streaming.

Mutiple PID Identifiers Support

Broadcaster M110 IRD enables administrators to use advanced PID technology to provide language and subtitle services. In addition, the device can also export decryption PID identifiers to allow stream decryption by remote decryption servers.

Dolby 5.1 Audio Support

Broadcaster M110 IRD supports the Dolby 5.1 Audio standard for exceptional sound quality. The Dolby technology allows up to 6 channels of surround sound to be delivered to end-users. An established standard for high end home theatre systems, surround sound is gaining wider adoption in modern IPTV systems.

Integrated HD/SD Satellite Player

Broadcaster M110 IRD includes an integrated high-definition satellite player that can display satellite content directly to the attached TV set using analog or digital connection (HDMI). This function allow easy configuration and monitoring of satellite streams that are also broadcasted to the LAN or WAN/Internet environment. Broadcaster M110 IRD supports both Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) media formats.

Satellite DVB-S/S2 Interface

Broadcaster M110 IRD supports advanced DVB-S/S2 satellite interface to allow reception of HD and SD satellite streams utilizing FTA (free-to-air) and encrypted satellite streams. The device does not provide transcoding services, but simply converts satellite stream packets into IP packets and sends the media along with associated PID information utilizing its Ethernet IP port.
